Planet Fitness Expands into St. Bernard
ST. BERNARD PARISH, LA – Planet Fitness, a national chain of gyms and fitness centers with over 2,000 facilities across all 50 states and 5 countries, has opened its first St. Bernard location. Stationed at 8400 W Judge Perez Dr. in Chalmette, the gym aims to provide affordable, accessible space for fitness and wellness in the parish.
Planet Fitness’s most recent expansion will create 12-14 local jobs and represents a capital investment into the parish of St. Bernard. Gregory Roth, District Manager of Planet Fitness for the area, is ready to welcome residents with open arms: “We are very pleased to expand our footprint in the Louisiana market with the opening of the Chalmette club. Meaghan McCormack, Executive Director of the St. Bernard Economic Development Foundation, sees this project as an obvious win for community members and parish leaders alike, considering the parish’s strategic goal of building out and attracting recreational facilities for all area demographics. “We have been working hard to ensure all St. Bernard residents feel they have ample leisure and recreation at their fingertips,” said McCormack. “Planet fitness is a place people of all ages and backgrounds can gather and enjoy themselves. We’re excited to see parish residents making use of this facility in the years to come.”
Planet Fitness is open from 5am-10pm M-F and 7am-7pm on weekends. Memberships start at just $10 a month, which provides access to the Chalmette facility and digital workouts.
